The Assembly Hall is a recently renovated century-old building (originally a place of worship) on the scenic Lakeshore Grounds in South Etobicoke. When the Assembly Hall re-opened in 2001 its historic charm was combined with modern updates and amenities, to provide a community cultural centre, offering a performance hall, community meeting rooms and gallery space.
Performance Hall and Lobby
This second story performance hall has a cathedral ceiling and arched windows, overlooking the treed grounds below. The hall can accommodate up to 250 people for performances and 140 people for social events. The tiered seating unit telescopes to provide either traditional raked performance theatre with a proscenium stage, or an open space, suitable for receptions, conferences, dinner theatre or trade shows. The performance hall is wheelchair accessible, with a passenger elevator and main floor handicapped washrooms.
The Assembly Hall
Rented to many of Toronto's arts, heritage and community groups for both public and private use. The Hall is an historic building built in 1897 as a recreation facility and place of worship. The Hall has a beautiful performance hall suitable for weddings, receptions, awards ceremonies or product launches. The Assembly hall has a apacity of 200 for stand-up cocktails, 130 for a sit-down dinner, and 200 theatre style. There are also a number of meeting spaces within the building.
The Assembly Hall is open to any catering company but the client must obtain their own Special Occasion Permit if alcohol is being served and provide proof of Liability insurance is also required. Tables and chairs are included with the rental.
